The aftermath of a tropical vacation?
I simply COULD NOT bring myself to put on actual pants and shoes this morning.
Thank god I work in a place where a skirt and flip flops is at least marginally acceptable office attire.

Kauai!
We leave for Kauai a week from tomorrow. My plans for the week include:
Snorkeling. With turtles.
Hiking.
Kayaking.
Renting cruiser bikes.
Taking a proverbial crap ton of pictures.
Drinking something out of a coconut.
Eating SO MUCH FRUIT.
Acquiring my first Chaco tan lines of the summer.
Trying not to make an ass out of myself in front of the husband’s coworkers.

So long, maternity leave. It's been real.
When you first get pregnant the day that you come back from maternity leave seems impossibly far away. And really, it is. If you figure you’ve got nine months or so of pregnancy plus three months (if you’re lucky, damn US leave policy) of leave it’s a good year before that day comes around. Plus, at some point in there you have to actually HAVE a baby which is pretty much as big...
